Location: Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Address: 451 7th Street Southwest, Washington, D.C. 20410 Summary: This introductory session is geared towards newly awarded Choice Neighborhoods planning grantees. The convening will provide grantees with an overview of the Planning Grant. The convening is anchored by an in-depth workshop on neighborhood revitalization and community engagement conducted by HUD subject matter experts. Featured Presenters:

Event Details
Presenter: The convening will feature an interactive workshop on strategies for revitalizing neighborhoods with Michael Schubert, adapted from the popular workshops he has conducted for Choice Neighborhoods planning and implementation grantees as well as his NeighborWorks training sessions. The convening will also include discussions with HUD Choice Neighborhoods staff and your fellow grantees.
Objective: Introduce newly awarded planning grantees to the Planning Grant. Provide grantees with a primer on neighborhood revitalization and community engagement practices and tools. Target Audience: HUD recommends that you send a six-person team, comprised of a broad set of stakeholders with a vested interest in the future of the neighborhood. We encourage you to bring your local government partner, a resident/community leader, and other partners who play a key role in your neighborhood planning. Documents to Bring with you:
